Woods
Beautiful and diverse
The Forestry Commission manages the ‘Herselse Heide’ nature reserve on which Brabantbos Lodge is bordered. Old and young pines (Pinus nigra) with here and there various kinds of broad-leaved trees and bushes on hilly sandy soil: that is what the woods look like. You will even find a few sand drifts where you can horse around and climb into the unique pine trees which have been growing all around these sand hills for ages. Even the juniper bush still grows here in the wild which is a rarity. The woods are also the home of hares, rabbits, squirrels, different kinds of birds of prey and deer.
